A story of New Beginnings


Meet Mandy
I've always dreamed of building a bakery business ever since watching my Nan & Mum making traditional beef pasties for my uncles pubs back in the UK when I was younger.
"The kitchen was always bustling and noisy with clashing pans. Plenty of fresh vegetables being peeled and prime mince being fried up with onions. All these scrumptious ingredients sealed inside a buttery shortcrust pasty then cooked to perfection. "
Then best of all was seeing the final product being pulled from the steaming hot trays and devoured in a gastronomic explosion when being delivered to the local pubs. "Seeing the customers enjoy the food was wonderful"
Having studied both agriculture and food preparation I went off on a tangent and went into sales and administration roles before starting my beautiful family. With lots of friends and family I've always been culinary creative and thankfully have had many great complements.
Starting a business has been a leap of faith, I'am delighted by new customer complements and enjoying the journey.
Meet Ian
Commercial wise I have spent majority of my working life as both Industrial Product Designer and Project Manager which I loved. But my Passion for food as always been high as I worked in my parents cafe while I was younger. Since then I have always enjoyed Baking, Cooking and experimenting with food.
Why now? Moving to South Canterbury after the Christchurch earthquakes meant I was travelling a lot for work and away from family which I didn't enjoy. So together we came up with a business plan to start this pastry goods baking and lifestyle product business.
Working with my wife on continuously improving my baking & cooking skills along with my persistence on getting the right result nothing leaves our kitchen without her approval!! As I always say to our customers "She does all the fancy stuff and I do all the hard work..."
